The Internet of Things or IoT is the leading branch of computer science. One of the biggest implication of this technology is Smart home.

IoT is a system of inter-connected devices where they can automatically communicate among themselves without human intervention. We all have heard the word "Smart house" where all the things are automatic and we don't have to do anything. Like the sensors can detect the human motion and confirm the presence of a human and this message can be sent to IoT which will in turn communicate it to other devices and do the desired action like turn on the lights or something like that.

However, IoT is not limited to smart house only. It can also be used for other processes like Monitoring System for for RO water, etc. This will not only save the wastage of time on repetitive tasks(the founding principle of AI) but also save resources. The most common example is adjusting the hotnes of water in shower during winters. Not only does that task take time but also sometimes causes a lot of water wastage which can be easily saved with the help of IoT.

Now one might think what are the requirements of IoT. They are sensors, wifi, end user device. Now you might say that we all have that then why is our house not a smart house. Well as a matter of fact, just having them isn't enough. If you recall from the definition of Iot, it is a system of INTER-CONNECTED devices. You need to connect these devices together and further link them to the cloud.

The cloud stores data but also does analysis and tries to figure out the general trends like the lights are tuned on from 8 am to 10 pm. After the system has its analysis ready, the IoT is ready to be implemented.
